a sleeping beauty

On the first day of spring 2003, our lovely Rohdiamant mare Rohanna gave birth to her second foal and second filly by the outstanding German stallion Weltmeyer. Weltspring is a lovely bay with a half moon shaped star, snip and left hind sock. She is sweet natured, athletic and shows tremendous potential.

Rohanna was tied for top scoring mare on the American Hanoverian Society's 2001 mare inspection tour. She made scores of 9 on her feminity, walk, and impulsion and elasticity. Under saddle she showed tremendous rideability, with wonderful balance, willingness and generosity.

Weltspring's sire Weltmeyer has been frequently referred to as a stallion of the century. He seems to have contributed much to Weltspring's conformation and gaits, endowing her with a nicely set on neck and tremendous suspension.

a pretty face, too

Weltdancer, a full sister to Weltspring sold at the tender age of three weeks in 2002, and is aimed for a competition and breeding career. She was named Champion Hanoverian Mare and Mare Performance Test Champion when she was inspected in 2007.

Stay tuned as this young lady grows up. We'll update the pictures often.

Weltspring was originally sold to Petra Wilder, a local trainer and also a good friend. She gave Spring a wonderful start, teaching her so much as a yearling. Petra was forced to sell Spring in the fall of 2004. Elaine Lash is her new owner, and reports that Spring has adjusted beautifully to her new surroundings. In 2007 we got to meet Elaine, who reported that Spring was going beautifully under saddle and was especially willing, brave and easy to ride. See her below. Oh my how she has developed!

Spring had a foal and then was put back under saddle and sold. Here she is in 2013.
